Sometimes you have a project in a beautiful place that produces fantastic images. Hartelkanaal was such a project!

5 Eneco wind turbines had to be removed along the A15. The turbine had a shaft height and rotor diameter of 80 meters and a capacity of 2.5 MW. They had been there since 2003.

Due to a widening of the A15, there was no room to disassemble these 5 windmills from land. That is why a pontoon was created by a 100 meters long and 33 meters wide pontoon. A tugboat, pusher and HEBO LIFT 2 came in handy to bring the pontoon to the right location. The tugboat sailed the anchors to stay in position.

On the canal you can have hindrance of low and high tide, height difference in water and enormous currents. Other shipping traffic also caused water movements. That is why they had to be kept in position so that work could still be carried out safely. The crane could not allowed to swing while lifting heavy parts.

On the pontoon stood our LR1600 crawler crane and a 100-ton crawler crane from HEBO Maritiemservice. Together we dismantled and moved 5 windmills. The assembly work was carried out by Koppejan Wind Service.

Thanks to the efficient cooperation between Business in wind, Koppejan Wind Service and HEBO Maritiemservice, 5 wind turbines were dismantled in just one week.
