In cooperation with HEBO Maritiemservice, Business in Wind and Koppejan Wind Service, BKV dismantled 5 wind turbines at Hartelkanaal. The turbines had been located along the A15 highway at the edge of the Hartelkanaal in Rotterdam since 2003. We dismantle wind turbines quite often, but the way it went on this project we have never done it before. The wind turbines were not dismantled by land but by water. Our LR1600 powerhouse was standing on a 100 meter long and 33 meter wide pontoon together with a 100 ton crawler crane from HEBO Maritiemservice. Despite the challenges of lifting on water, the project was completed within one week. A fact we are proud of!
